the checks were cashed by different people with only one signature and it was the same signature on all the checks? Is the person who *issued" the check the resposible party? This would be personal checks.

I don't fully understand what your question is. If you wrote checks to multiple businesses that were cashed causing your account to bounce, you will eventually feel some financial consequences whether it be service fees from you bank or a collection fee from a collection agency. Either way, if the checks are not stolen or forged, eventually the owner of the account is responsible for all the checks cashed.

Okay, let me see if I understand. If you have a checking account and write checks that exceed what is actually in the account, than YOU are responsible. Now, if someone forges your signature on a check and uses it to purchase something or for cash, then the forger is going to jail and you have to work it out with the bank to get all your money back. Other then those two scenarios, I am not sure what you are getting at.

That's a tough one because I had a vicious ex who cashed a check six months later on me and bounced the whole checking account when he told me he would not cash it if I gave him cash instead! After six months they are supposed to be obsolete but the bank cashed it anyway but took no responsibility for it. I was not a happy camper to say the least. So the answer to your question would be yes. The person who issued the checks because I issued the check and didn't take measures to make sure it was properly destroyed. The banks don't really care as long as they make their money!

I'm not sure I understand your question, but if you were to write 7 different checks, it's up to you to make sure there is enough money in the account to pay for all 7 checks. Whoever you give the check to, it's up to them to get it cashed.

the place that cashed it would be responsible..the only person able to cash a check would be the name on the check or who the check was issued to..

What is the question, did someone write out checks that did not belong to them? If so then both will get in trouble

that is the person cashing it in most states. although they take the funds from your account, the writer of the check still gets in trouble, you just get the bill.
