I have been of satelite for years, and cable longer.Actually the cheapest way to go is the satelite. Buy the cheapest package you can get, and Pay Per View the rest. Don't waste your money on the big packages, unless you want to shop till you drop, have to much Christianity, or watch the same movie over, over, over, again!!! Keep a pair of rabbit ears handy for a spare T.V. in another room for the weather info during storms., because your satelite will go off, trust me, it will go off!!!!! Other than that, it ok, its better the cable!

I had Dish Network satellite TV for about 2 years and finally got fed up with it. Every time it would storm the dish would get blown a fraction of an inch and no channels would come in! Even if it only rained a little bit I lost several channels - in particular the Weather Channel! What is the point of having the weather channel as part of the package when you can't watch it when it is windy or rainy outside?

With cable you don't have to worry about all of those problems. In addition you can bundle other services like cable internet and in some places even home security systems.

As for the cost, I subscribe to just the basic cable to cut back on expenses. Rather than get the movie channels, it is cheaper to get a subscription to Netflix or Blockbuster online. Through Netflix or Blockbuster online you will get a wider selection of movies than if you rely on HBO or Showtime's monthly selections.

We have DirecTV and it is almost $40 a month cheaper than comparable cable. My Mother has cable and has literally half the channels for twice the cost. We seldom lose the picture and if we do it is very briefly. I REALLY lilke the fact that I can block out every single thing I do not want to watch; actually everyone that watches the TV does have that option...but in my house the Mom wins just as nature intended,,

It's okay. I think I like cable better because I lose signal on the satelite often.

We have Dish Network, and we love it; about half the price of cable, and we only lost the signal once because of tree branches in front of the dish. Once I cut the branches back, no problem. What's ironic though, is that there is a cable provider just down the road from our house-with several big satellite dishes out front!

honestly relies upon on the place you reside. once you're a US resident, the alternative and pricing for cable is lots greater effective than satellite tv for pc. once you're a uk resident Sky win hands down as cable television - ruled by way of Virgin - is undesirable interior the united kingdom. specific, a satellite tv for pc dish might success grotesque however the standard of image and variety of programming is lots greater effective.
