you've worded this question strangely,but i think i know what you mean,you and your guitarist will have to get together and arrange the piece,meaning your going to have to break it down to a verse and chorus and if its elaborate a bridge,refrain etc: because right now its just a poem. so to get the chords you might want to see if your guitarist has been working on a piece that has no lyrics and see if that works if not you just pick a key that you can sing in and work the chords in that key,get it? hope it helps,but what i think you really need to do if this is not coming naturally to you is go online and look up songwriting websites and books. hope it helps

you first need to have melody for your lyrics. then your guitarist getting the chords is easy part. if not, your guitarist have to help you write his own melody then it's up to him whether he's in for this kinda thing..
