My brand new gateway laptop was made for movies hence its widescreen and great video card and i know this might contradict the movie scene but when i try to play a game, some pretty poor games too, i can't because it says that I am missing Pixel Shader. Wat is pixel shader? How do i get it? Why doesn't my computer have it and my girlfriends laptop which is worst than mine does? And why does it prohibit me from playing most games or makes me grpahics on my games look crazy?

Could you post the model number of your laptop and if possible the name of your video card, with a little more info I might be able to help.

EDIT: Well the problem is that you do not have a great video card, in fact you don't have an actual video card, you have integrated graphics. Some games require you to have an actual video card, while others will play without one but the graphics will look bad. A pixel shader is a part of a video card, and integrated graphics don't have pixel shaders. This particular laptop was not meant for gaming unfortunately.

Toshiba is overpriced and you pay for the call in quite some circumstances in the greater suitable of their computers. Dell is working reliable in overall performance and value. i these days quoted a 17" computing device for a pal and the only computing device rated greater suitable by client comments became a Mac for $1000 greater. And the only distinction between the Dell and the Mac became that the Mac reveal screen became rated very sturdy and the Dell reveal screen became rated sturdy. I do exactly no longer think of it quite is worth $1000 for the Mac logo on a working laptop or computing device. i does no longer individually touch a Compaq, Gateway, HP, etc. In my humble opinion they're generally junk machines. i might advise you're taking a sturdy long look on the Dells. The computing device I quoted for a pal became an Inspiron 1720. i individually have and XPS 410. the two are very sturdy manchines. desire this helps.
