every time i plug my ipod into the computer itunes automatcially starts and synchs my ipod with all the music i hav on the comp and deletes everything from my ipod.
this sucks because after i put music onto my ipod i delete it from my comp
how can i stop itunes from automatically starting whenever i plug my ipod in and synching it??

follow these instructions from Apple's support site. It's real easy

Once you change your preference to manually manage music you won't have this problem anymore. I share my Mac with 4 different iPods and nothing gets deleted. I hope this helps you!

If you have the newest version of ITunes (1.3) when you plug in your IPod, it should bring you right to a screen in which you can just select Manually manage music.
If you don't have the newest version, you select Edit. Then Prefences, then click manually manage music.

When you plug it in it should give you options to change when it syncs. If not check under the EDIT tab. Also Create SEperate Playlist so you can up load things selectivly

there is two ways. first, you can change it in your prefrences (or so they say) I found I had to uninstall I tunes. I just use the Ipod as a mass storage device in windows xp, and move my music there with explorer. I-tunes drags your computer down anyways..

Plug it in, then uncheck sync iPod when plugged in

its like a steeing of some sort and does it delete automaticly or do you do it ? if u do STOP!
