It often depends on the person. Ive known 60 year old adults who regularly throw tantrums or seek attention like 13 year old children and 13 year old children who are mature enough to teach them a lesson or two.
If a person isn't somewhat emotionally mature by the age of 18 from experience I'd say they will either be a late bloomer or may never 'grow up' at all.
If by 21 they aren't making any strides whatsoever the odds are they will be somewhat immature adults possibly until the day they die. Very few seem to be capable of becoming emotionally mature or changing by this point. This is due to the fact that there is most likely a high degree of personality disorder or emotional illness preventing them from being capable of becoming emotionally mature.

I don't think emotional maturity can be measured in degrees of fullness. Maturity is situation-ally sensitive. You can have for example a mature individual say over 40 years of age, but they can act regressive, emotionally immature if a situation arises where they act impulsively. On the other hand you can have a child who is well mannered and knows boundaries and be emotionally mature for their age. There is no specific age where any one person can be fully, as in completely emotionally mature because at any time a life threatening event can cause such trauma and shock to a person they will often act regressively. Weeping, becoming hysterical, etc...Look to news account of celebrities going through divorces,...there you find many examples of otherwise mature, successful adults who begin to act childish, and foolish to say the least.

It is different for each individual human being. Some can be fully emotionally mature at 18 while others are not emotionally mature at 32. It all depends on how quickly the person's mind develops and what they have been through or been exposed to.

I would have to say, "never." Think about it. To "whatever" age a person lives to be, they experience different types of emotional feelings , "about" different emotional situations,at different times and levels in their lives. What a person can handle emotionally at the age of 20, might emotionally tear them apart at age 50. Or, at the age of 20, they go through something devastating, that years later they understand fully, and therefore can handle with better comprehension, and ease. Okay?

There's no "age" that someone is mature.
I'm sure theres a 14 year old out there that's a lot more mature than a 30 year old that poses as a 16 year old teenage girl on MySpace.

That depends on the person. There is no set age that says once you are __ you are fully emotionally mature.

None of us ever become fully mature unless we are an oak tree...lol My favorite motto is "to grow old is inevitable, to grow up is optional" I truly believe in keeping the child in you and when things get rough un-leash the child and be immature ....in the long run it's healthy and might even help you to live longer. You have to learn to laugh with others and even at yourself!

'fully' mature? I say never. We're always capable of sulking like children, misbehaving and taking the low road instead of the high road...
