It all started with Adam & Eve. When God kicked those fools out of the Garden of Eden, he told the woman that you would have a craving for your husband & he will dominate you. This was not a curse by God, but because of our first parents' disobedience to Him. And ever since then, men have always thought they were superior to women.

numerous, religion being the most prevalent. others are ignorance, assault by a member of the opposite sex, mental illness, and tradition. i'm sure others will give you more.
