Why are white people referred to as the Caucasian "race?"?

used to refer to people whose ancestry can be traced back
to Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and in
certain areas of the Horn of Africa.

Because they seem to want to be in control of everything including the English language and they came up with that word to define you whites, just as there are Negroes, Aborigines and the best for last, the mighty and true and great Native Americans, both North and South Amercans, who walked across the land bridge connecting Siberia and Alaska and split from our Asian Ancestry.

Tell you a little joke for you to ponder...God was creating man and gave it his best shot and poured this mixture into a mold and put it in the oven to bake...when he thought it was done, he pulled it out of the oven to cool. when he removed the bake mold it turned out to be not quite done. He tried a second time and kept it longer in the oven. When it cooled, he baked it too much which turned out to be the Negroes..The final and last time he tried baking, he kept a very close watch to make sure that the mixture baked just right, because he couldn't make anymore of the special mixture. When it cooled it turned out to be perfect so, we became known as the Indians, Asians, Eskimos, Laplanders, Siberians...So this is why you are refered to as Caucasians...the not so cooked race which is why your skin is pale....third time is always a charm as the old saying goes....Hope this helped you in your quest fo knowledge....

I think races are considered a major alteration between people (almost like animal species). A white and a black person have completly different features, yet are both still human. Dosen't the same apply to African and Asian elephants?
