It could be that you were watching your fat intake before you had it removed. Pain is a wonderful motivator to lose weight.

Unfortunately, most women who have their gallbaldder removed are part of the "3 F" group. Forty, fat and fair. I'm one of the privileged to be in that group. I had my gallbladder removed about 4 years ago. I have had weight gain, but I'm positive it is because I'm getting older and pre-menopausal, plus I don't get much exercise. After having any kind of surgery, you have the chance of weight gain because you aren't as active during recovery. There could be many reasons.

I've read that after you have it taken out you enjoy food more because it isn't painful anymore to eat certain foods. Not everyone gains weight. Here is a site .http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Gastro/archive/Gallbladders1.html

I had mine taken out 2 1/2 mos. ago and so far I've gained 3 1/2 lbs. I've been trying to get more active and eat less fattening foods. So far, nothing. I'm thinking of joining Curves and start taking Hoodia. If you can think of a better way, please, please let me know.
