No, the Internet and the World Wide Web were not developed at the same time. The Internet was actually first developed in 1962 as a way for US military forces to maintain communications in the event of a nuclear war, also known as ARPA.

In 1989, the World Wide Web ws conceived by Berner-Lee of the European Laboratory for Particle Physics.

The growth of the web actually began to pick up in 1992 when the National Center for Supercomputing Applications developed Mosaic, the first graphically-oriented browser.

WWW came later. At first, researchers would communicate over the ARPANET after the DOD (Department of Defense) created links to Universities and other Research Facilities. At the time, it was a store and forward network. Meaning, we used modems to get mail from the next mail stop. There was a network called BITNET (Because Its There) that we used where everyone had a handle. Around 1985, with the advent of the IBM PC, more people started to communicate information. Shortly after that, the WWW designation came into play. Before, the Internet was based upon IP Addresses with text-based nomenclature.

No...about 30 year difference. Internet was developed back in the 60s for the military. The WWW came along in the 90s so the general public could spew their racist garbage every change they got.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
