As sad as it is to admit, there are increasing similarities between the fascist mandates of Hitler and the rights-stealing laws enacted by the Bush administration. Several comments have been made that try to differentiate between the two by pointing out Bush was elected by the people, while Hitler stole power. These comments are ridiculous to anyone who knows history. If anything, Hitler rose to power in a more democratic fashion than Bush did. It was by an overwhelming mandate that Hitler's Nazi Party won power. And he didn't even have a brother in office to rig the elections. Hitler actually won fair and square.

Of all the ways our goose-stepping President mimics the Fatherland's policies, the scariest part is that the American people are closely mimicking the German people's reactions to Hitler's regime. We look back now and ask how the German people could allow the things that went on. Well, I say look around you today. Americans are allowing virtually the same thing to be done to them today. We are having our rights taken from us one-by-one over a period of time, we have "secret camps" where people are thrown and forgotten about without trial or rights, we have a national tragedy to "blame" for starting the whole thing. Sounds like Germany in 1933 all over again.

Though I am not a fan of Bush nor what is going on in the world at present time, I think you slept a little to often in your history classes. There is a great book called Crisis in U.S. Foreign Policy, it gives the real documents from all the players in a variety of U.S. involvements. It lets the reader see what was actually discussed behind closed doors and see the points of view of all parties. It covers all major wars, WWI, WWII, Cold War, Korean War, Vietnam War, Etc. I would definitely recommend you take a little time actually studying the past before you make judgments on how things are done in the present.

One must remember that the USA is a democracy. That means that the people make the desicion to put a man in power who will commit such crimes. The people of the US need to educate themselves to what they are doing. What is more important, killing 3000 young soldiers in the name of oil or stoppong gays from getting married?

The Bush Administration bought into the Nazi style of propaganda and terrorism game. Finally, Americans are waking up.
