It may be because when you quit Internet Explorer or Firefox the first time. It didn't close completly. Press Ctrl Alt Delete and fine IExplorer.Exe (NOT EXPLORER.EXE, but iExplorer.exe_ It could also be IE.exe. and End that process., or for Firefox, its somthing like Firefox.exe

Other than that. It's probably a virus. Specifically one that changes interent settings that doesn't allow you to open up and INternet pages. Run a Virus Scan.

Another Option. Go find the install file for Firefox. Uinstall your current one, and open up a new install file.

Other than that, I'm out.

If you downloed a new IE7 you may want to completely turn off your computer wait about 2 min. then turn it back on. As far as the icon believe me they want to be seen so it should be on the esktop or in your start menu. If it is not you may just click all programs you will find it. If all else fails you may need to erase the newest one and add it again. You will find the old one. If that does not work try using your Yahoo Messenger it will get you up to the internet. You will also see what program your computer is responding to...

Once you have it found through your search. Right click and DRAG it to the desktop. It should ask you if you want to create a short cut there. Click on that option and you should be set.
