I have 2 computers and I need virus protection on both, so will Norton 2007 tell me that I CAN'T install it on the 2nd computer, if I have it installed & activated on the other computer? When I bought Norton AntiVirus 2006 last year, it let me activate it about 5 times total, before telling me that I've used up all the times I'm permitted to activate those particular serial numbers. Is version 2007 the same -- can I install & activate the serial numbers more than once like on version 2006? It's $40, so I don't feel like spending $80 just to install the same software on two home computers.

In most software packages, each computer requires a single license key. You can buy packages that have more licenses attached to them so you can install the same package on multiple computers. I have a feeling this is what you purchased with Norton AV 2006, or those were the conditions attributed to that package.

In 2007, if it will not allow you to install on more than 1 PC, then you have to purchase additional licenses to do that. Which, yes, do cost you more money.

How about instead of blowing money on Norton download AVG. Its safe, secure, updates automatically, and completely free. Install it on as many computers as you want. They do offer a professional version but you have to pay for that one.

i feel very bad for you. Norton is one of the worst anti virus softwares around. its very difficult to uninstall, in fact its practily impossible as far as i know.(so doesnt that make it a viral progam....?) plus the coverage is marginal because since its so widely used hackers develop attacks on those systems because its such a common program. i rly feel bad for your wasted 40 bucks, but i rly suggest another program. i believe theyre is free antivirus software available on http://www.download.com so maybe have that tide you over untill you can stomach spending more money for a better program ;_;

Well that's the principle of licensing, otherwise everyone could share the same key!

You have to pay for the number of licences you need.

They simply improved their copyright protection.
