Kobe aunuoced his # change in like April. He said that when he came in to the league he wanted to be his high schol # which is 33 but Kareem retierd that # so 24 was his next option SINCE HE WORE it IN HIS EARLY HIGH SCHOOL carear but at that the time some one had that #. Now that no one has he wants 2 b 24 to treat it as a rebirth to get away from Shaq, colorado , and the critisism.he even has a web site : kb24.com

Kobe said that he finish with his 1st half of his career. He is now ready to start his other half, the half he hopes he is remember by. Now that he has no help, people can look at what he can actually do byhimself. Their would be no more doubts , saying that O'neal helped him. The number 24 opens the future to him, and take Lakers to what they once were

Actually Kobe changed his # because he wanted to start a new chapter in his basketball life. He said this is the second era or a new beginning(Chapter 2) to his life. I read this on ESPN.com

im sorry, i have to say it, but kobe is garbage, that tright...lol. Maybe im a kobe hater, but I CANT STAND HIM!!! I personally dont care if he changed his number or not, we need trash like him and iverson and dare i say it, shaq, out of the nba. well just had to get that out of my system lol

That`s news to me....I thought he had the same number! Just found you right in Oct 28th he will change to 24....I couldn`t find out why he changed his # and it may be later then Oct 28th..
