I can either: a) go trick or treating with friends and feel guilty about skipping this geometry class I'm taking thats advanced and not anyway involved in school or b) go to the class and feel really left out.

I really can't decide because if I go trick or treating my mom will be angry and if I go to class I'll feel terrible. I JUST CAN'T WIN! I'm not allowed to do both though.....Help!

Point out that there are only a few precious years that you will be able to go trick or treating. Once it's over, it's gone......for good. It's not something you can do as a grown-up, but geometry will be there.

I hope your mom will understand and respect your decision to do what you really want to. What can she say? "When you're grown-up you can go trick or treating as much as you want?"

Make an extra effort to make up the work you will miss and keep up with the class. Be calm and diplomatic with your parents. Besides, she might not be as angry as you think she'll be. Above all, no shouting, no whining.

Good luck and have fun!

Trick or treat. You can go to the geometry class and learn, but experiences and memories made are once in a lifetime. You won't remember that day in geometry class when you are 30 years old, I promise.

I'm just confused as to why you can't do both. Why would you go trick or treating during a school day?

Go trick or treating with your friends. Then eat all your delicious candy in class the next day.
