It is .0625!! Anytime you see a fraction like your 5/8, it is really saying 5 divided by 8, so that equals .625. Remember when you change a single digit figure 1 through 9 from a % to a decimal, it is point 0 plus the single digit; i.e., 1% becomes .01, 2% becomes .02, etc. And since your 5/8 is less that 1, it will have the zero in the first position. No, I'm wrong. You are dealing with a number less than 1 so it would be .00625. To check it out, change your decimal back to a %. Move the decimal point over two places = .625, which is really saying 625/1000 which equal 5/8.

Get a calculator then work it out. The calculator never shows fractions only decimals so put 5 divided by 8 then the calculator shows it in decimals which is 0.625

To turn a fraction into a decimal just see it as a sum and do it on your calculator.
eg 5 divided by 8 = 0.625
Now to convert % to decimal divide by 100.
so 5 divided by 8% = 5 / 0.08 = 62.5
