Some depends on the cause of the smell, are you using the fridge now? If so, I like washing with vinegar or diluted vineger & water because it is safe, it will kill germs and mold, it works on odors and doesn't need to be rinsed. Baking soda is more of a maintenance thing in the fridge, go heavy duty for this a small container of vanilla or vinegar will probably help however not always charcoal will work though. The loose charcoal that you buy at fish stores for filters works really great and is food safe however you can you charcoal briquettes (for bbq) they won't work as well or as fast but will work just don't get the ones with starter already in them or you might kill yourself. Put in a container on a couple of shelves. Whichever stuff you use put one of the containers close to the vents where the fan is circulating the air this will help speed the process.
If you are not using it right now follow the directions for cleanning then stuff it with wadded (not folded) newspaper and a bit of charcoal or briquettes. The newspaper is great for absorbing odor. This is also the best way to store one if you can't take the door off. Good luck.

First wipe it out with clorox clean wipes. Leave the doors open to air dry. The clorox should pretty much remove any bad smells like fish or onions. Then after that you should put in a small box of baking soda. This will prevent it from smelling in the future but the best thing you can do is clean out your fridge every month and also make sure to throw out stinky left overs before they turn green and fuzzy. Believe me I used to travel a lot and rarely checked my fridge and learned the hard way! Hope this helps.

you can do all the things that were suggested but you probably wont get as well of an effect. You should get pine sl and bleach and wipe the whole fridge down. afterwards go ahead and put a box of baking soda or even a lime to just give it a fresh scent. chane the box every other month. and dont leave the lime in there for more than a week.

Wash out with baking soda/water solution and place a small container(custard cup or saucer) with pure vanilla extract(imitation does not work) on a shelf. The vanilla gives off a pleasant odor of it's own and will absorb the fowl odors. The odors will also lessen as the refrigerator gets colder inside.

I bought a deep freezer one time and it had a terrible smell in it. I cleaned it out with water and baking soda. The smell was still in it so I bought a large bag of charcoal, cut the top off the bag, placed it in the freezer, closed the lid and plugged it back in. It took a few days but the smell was gone.

Clean it with mild, non abrasive detergent, or Bicarbonate of Soda (baking), rinse, then leave switched on with Bicarbonate of Soda conatiner opened (Arm & Hammer) in it for as long as poss before putting food back in - (Leave door open to let it air out) I know this will waste electricity for a while, but it'll be the quickest way to refresh the air in there!

Mild dish soap, warm water, and then rinse the fridge with that. If that's not enough, rinse the ENTIRE inside with daking soda. Make sure there is no mildew present. use a mild solution in a sprayer to spred the bleach throughout the fridge.

in the event that they left meat in it, you"ll probable by no skill get each and every of the smell out. There are seams & crevaces the place the juices from the beef ran which you will no longer be able to get to. sparkling it the main suitable you are able to with 409 or different cleaners, then you definitely can attempt to masks the odors with sprays. you are able to attempt to soak up the dissimilar smell via putting a trayful of roughly 20 charcoal briquettes interior.

You could try baking soda, put in an open box, but try this, take any citrus scented oil, wax, etc., such as lemon pledge and soak a clean towel/rag with it and put it in the reefer, close the door and leave it overnight, citrus will soak up odors.
Good luck
