how much would you sell them for? Most were bought for any where between $15.88 to $24.96. All types such as Disney, action, adventure, thriller, horror, drama, comedy, family, suspense, ect...
I have over 225, some of which were bought in the last couple of months as new releases. Should I list them online for sale as one lot or should I just sell them individually at a yard sale? Which would be more profitable?

If it were me, I would try selling them on craigslist first, as you might get more money selling them that way. Also, it wouldn't cost you anything to post them to see. I would try selling them as a lot, just because it is easier and you don't have to deal with multiple buyers.
If you are set to sell at garage sale I would price them at $5 for older DVDs and $10 for really new ones. I would then sell 2 for $8 or 3 for $12, etc. to get people to buy a couple.
I would also try a pawn shop. Sometimes they will buy games and dvds, but it depends on the shop. It might be easy to sell all of them at once. Otherwise you might be left with all of the dud movies.

A lot depends on where you are, and what condition the DVD's are still in. If they have been VERY well cared for (no scratches, no sitting them face-down on the carpet, etc.) then you can expect to get a better price than if they are even slightly damaged.
Generally, here in Kansas used DVD's go for $2 - $5 at a garage sale.
Another idea, such as was already suggested, would be to swap them. You can see if that is an option via a group like www.freecycle.com - I've always enjoyed using that to share things I no longer wanted with others. Good luck!

Hello Help Me Help You,
There's video chains that buy back used DVDs. There's Warehouse:
http://www.wherehouse.com/
Here in the Portland area they have a chain called CD Game Exchange that buys back DVDs. Perhaps there's places like this in your area. There's also hock shops that buy and sell used DVDs.
I don't usually buy DVDs for more than $5 at yard sales and I need to check the scratches before hand. With DVDs going HD I would imagine that standard DVDs are going even cheaper.

At a yard sale I wouldn't price them for any more than $2 or $3. You might get a better price online, but then you have to deal with shipping and payments. Maybe you can swap with someone else or donate them? Maybe someplace that sells secondhand videos will buy them?

You should either sell them for cheap in your yard sale (this will be easy, but will not earn as much money). Or you should sell them online individually through ebay or someone like ebay. (This will require more work, but will earn you more money.)
You need to decide which is more important to you, spending lots of time to make more money online, or making a little money over a few hours - getting rid of a bunch of movies you don't need to see again.

At a yard sale, you will get robbed. People want stuff cheap cheap cheap. Try ebay or craigslist...esp for the Disney's.
Actually, I may be interested in some of the Disney's. I have some holes in my collection. PM if you'd like.

You have to consider in a few things, I work for Hollywood Video and we sell used movies for anywhere between $5 and $20 depending on how new the movie is and what condition it is in. Ones that are newer like Fast and the Furious 3 are $19.99 but older movies are around $5.99 or $7.99 depending on the age. So I come to my point i would sell them between $5 and $10 because you would have to compete with every other seller of movies.

I'd try to sell them as a group and put a big price on them. If you sell them separate, I'd let them go for $5 each.

I'd say about $5. You might do better selling them online at an auction site.
