Despite what you might think, I prefer to remain optimistic regarding the planets welfare, and hopefully it's not to late to save the planet from, what seems to be, inevitable destruction.
I would love to see the formation of a United Nations Planet saving force, just like the Peace keeping force, only a collective of high-powered politicians that work to reverse the damage already caused by mankind. It's never to late to make a difference to the environment as individuals. However no matter how much we 'go green' in our lifestyles, big corporate industries will continue to be the biggest polluters and dangers to the environment.
Let's all keep doing 'our' bit to save the planet and pray that the world's leaders will do 'their' bit too.

That's kind of like pageant queens asking for world peace. It's a nice idea but one that will never take. Ignorance and stupidity tend to breed and before you know it there's a herd of them. You might get a few peace loving hippies in the bunch but that's just for balance. Which is the key word here. Balance is how nature runs and it's how the human race lives as well. I mean think about it. All the wars through out history. You have the good against the bad, depending on which side your on, does good always win? Nope, bunch of good die and a bunch of bad die. In the end there is still a balance of good and evil or bad actions and good. Just because someone evil died today does that make the world any better? Nope. Just because someone good died does that make the world any less worse? Nope. So in other words compassion will be delt with the same balance it's always had.

Man kind will never change. it would be like turning a lion into a snake through evolution. It cannot happen. We are doomed with being the worst predator this world has ever seen. Maybe after we destroy ourselves the next civilization will do better.

I think you are a weak minded, easily influenced person. We are not destroying this planet, no matter what greenpeace tells you.
