I bought "IntelliMover" when I bought my new computer last year. It's a program you load on your old and new computer, then connect them through each machine's USB port. You get a Windows Explorer-type window for each hard drive, and all you do is click and drag programs, pictures, etc. from one computer to the other. It worked well. It costs about $50.

Easiest way is to use a Flash-Drive, you can connect it to your old computer to a USB port and there download your data, Buy a 1 Gb. Flash-Drive in case of you need to transfer some data which capacity is high. Other way is to burn your Data onto DVDs or CDs, later you can transfer them to the new one. You can make a BACK-UP by placing a new hard disk inside of your old computer, download your files and then place it into the new one. There are many way but I advice you the first one because it's cheaper and more practical.
Good Luck.

Depends on the ammount of data. For most people, burning to a CD or two will get most essential files. If you use any sort of backup you can also use that to transfer your data, recommended if you have larger ammounts of data. This is probably the best way.
The simplest way is to just add your current computers hard drive as a secondary drive to your new computer.

Flashdrives are the way to go. Prices are way down now.

If you have a ton of files, you might also want to think about an external USB hard drive. It would also serve as a backup for you which is always a good idea inasmuch as a PC can crash at any time.

If you backup on your hard drive, it is a waste of time and energy. Backups will be lost in the crash.

Just network the two computers, use the new PC as the administrator, drag and drop or copy and paste to your new PC. I hope this helps. "PEACE"
