I am turning 60 and my husband will be 65 and will retire next year. What does that look like for most people and is it hard to deal with?

NOPE -- RETIREMENT is GREAT! Best time of my life -- Empty-Nest, no one there to make me miserable or have to constantly deal with, Get to go where I want to go, be in my home and enjoy it, visit where I want to visit -- and now -- MY Income is MY OWN -- and no one else is in my pocketbook.

WHY?
HAVE YOU NOT LONGED FOR THE DAY YOU WERE NO LONGER A SLAVE TO WORK PLACE.

THERE IS 25,000 MILES OF TRAVEL AROUND THE WORLD.
PEOPLE TO SEE=YOUR LIVES TO LIVE...

NOT ONE BORING MOMENT. FOR ME.
I RETIRED AIR FORCE 1984 AND FROM NC STATE DEPT IN 2000. AT AGE 38 THEN 55.

I WOULDN'T GO BACK TO THE SALT MINES FOR GOLD BARS.
I WISH NOW I HAD RETIRED AT 50.

i am 33 and i wish i could retire tomorrow...there are plenty of things to do if you have a lot of free time...you can deal seriously with anything that attracts you without having to do it...
