Why do people say "catfight" and "claws" when girls get into fights?

Well there are alot of terms used to describe feminine and feline traits. For the most part I feel honored to be compared to cats but i think females are compared to cats because cats are sensitive,maternal, and have sensual qualities and quick in states of arousal(attacking,fighting), Some women are nurturing like cats and when a woman is rubbed the right way you can almost hear a "spiritual" purr similiar to the way a cat does when pleased. There are many traits I wish more women would adopt from cats such as there confidence and independence.

I've wondered this myself, not just about the women-pissed-off angle. Women all throughout history have been regarded as feline. I think it's because traditionally they've been beautiful, peaceful and tranquil creatures, but the second you piss them off they claw your f*ckin' eyes out. :P *lol* That sounds like a cat to me.

I guess its because if dogs are mans best friend, people assume that cats are girls best friends too. Or maybe because females have to have cat-like tendencies.
