I went to a male gynecologist (my first one) and he told me to be sure to always wear a bra or other wise my breasts would start to sag eventually. (I was 18.) Of course, I always did and still do, but what did this have to do with why I was there? As far as I was concerned, HIS only concern was whether or not my breast were healthy, not how perky they were, (or how perky they stayed.) Anyway, it came across as kinda creepy to me, so I never went back to him, and have gone to women ever since. Interestingly enough, no female doctor has ever thought it necessary to tell me how to keep my breasts perky.

Im confused with your question- you are a female, are you asking if you would go to a male gynecologist? Absolutely, your experience with a urologist was one person, and every doctor is different. But if you have reservations, there are plenty of good female gynecologists that you may have no fear about and would be more at ease to talk to and have the exam. good luck

I only had male gynaeocologists. That of course was pure luck. In the beginning it is a bit awkward but then you deal with it.
Bottom line is that he is a doctor, a professional and should not feel any different than going to a female doctor.
Men gyns. have a better reputation I hear.

Why would a male go to a GYN? I have had both male and female GYN's and I have no problem with either. It's the person. A male GYN will have a nurse or assistant in the room , if you are a woman?

I have been to a male gynecologist, but I prefer a woman gynecologist. They are more empathetic and take more time.

I have went to a male gyno. In fact a male one delivered all 3 of my kids. There is a female nurse in the room when he has to examine you.

I do go to a male OBGYN. I used to go to a female but she quit. I was nervous going to a man but he is actually MUCH gentler than the lady Dr was!
