A school has a band with 64 woodwind players and 72 bass players. All members of the bang line up in rows of equal size. Only musicians playing the same instruments are in each row. What is the greatest numbers of musicians who can be in one row? HELP!

You're looking for the greatest common factor.
64 = 8x8
72 = 9x8
8 players per row, 8 rows of woodwinds, 9 rows of basses.

could it be 8?
64=8*8 (meaning 8 rows of 8 woodwind players each) and 72=9*8 (meaning 9 rows of 8 bass players each)
