Is it possible that they don't hate gays as much as they pretended to? Have we possibly been manipulated to channel our hatred in the directions of their choosing?

I'm so mad I could spit and I'm thinking of voting for the Democrats!!!

How do you know the Republican party was hypocritical about the regligious right? Did someone say so? Was it the entire party or one or two people in the party? How credible is your source of information?

We see a lot of spin in the media today, a whole lot of supposition and implying of wrong-doing by a group when there may have only been wrong-doing by one person.

People who hear something alarming to them, and act on what they have heard without verification of the facts or even looking at the facts, are usually VERY easily led. Those are the kinds of people the Dems look for to use as their voting base.

There are lots of options beside Democrat and Republican. There is the Liberterian Party which offers a welcome change.

Welcome to reality friend. I voted for Bush in 2000, I did not in 2004, he was already showing his duplicity in using the Religious Right (just one of the reasons.) I'm not a RR'er, this I'll admit. But the hypocrisy and exposed corruption has reached a crescendo and I know I've had enough. I know 4 Repubs at work that are voting Democrat this November. They feel as though they've been used and abused as well. It's time for a change, big time.

The only reason that the republican party is Now associated with religious right and pro life, anti-new taxes, etc. is because they want vooootes. that's alll. They embrace as many people as they can by siding with them and fighting for cause solely for votes. At least that's what the republicans do. I mean look at Reagon. he said he'd overturn Roe v. Wade and would outlaw abortion, trying to embrace the religious right. diid he do any of that? ooof course not. Was all talk just to get votes. Political parties shape the ideology the way they want to to get votes.

Vote Democrat *wink*

I think you were also deceived into believing that GWB was a genius. Vote these buggers out of office. Please. No more war. Almost seven TRILLION dollars down the rat hole in Iraq, and they're trying to scare you by saying democrats will raise taxes. A $7,000,000,000,000 expenditure on a war we didn't need? Please. That's the biggest deception yet. Of course, if the Diebold voting machines are rigged . . .

I used to be a Republican, but disappointment in their actions made me turn completely.
The straw that broke the camel's back was Bush's stance on pro-life. I was sold and voted for him in 2000 because of his wonderful speeches on the value of life. For the next three years, he had next to nothing to say on the subject.
Yes, it was a busy time for him, one could say that he didn't have time for pro-life issues but he had plenty of time for golf.
I predicted he would pull the pro-life issue out of the mothballs and use it for the next election year. Sure enough, he used it simply so he could call his opponent a baby-killer to win more votes.
Again, he won, but what became of the issue? 2006 is more than halfway over and how many babies has he saved since 2004?
I predict that the pro-life issue will be pulled back out of mothballs in time for the next Republican running for president to call his opponent a baby-killer.
