I just got my car painted black and I washed it with soap and I did not know that you do not supposed to wash an new paint job with soap. Now there are a lot of streaks in it. Is there anything that I can use to get the streaks out.

I am thinking your best bet would be to go back to the place where you got it painted, and ask them. Can I ask why you would wash a freshly painted car?

Actually a good car wash soap is better to wash a new paint job than clear water, it lubricates the sponge or wash mitt...and actually avoids scratches, but you need to spray as much grit off the paint as you can first to avoid putting minute scratches in it ... I use Dawn...Beleave me unless you used some kind of cleanser with grit the soap didn't do it...

Let the car sit in a dry warm place for a week and then take it to a detail shop and have it power polished. It's cheaper than a new paint job. I hope that the paint shop used lots of clear coat!
