I noticed Yahoo has been deleting a lot of questions lately. What's up with that?

Note: None of my questions have ever been deleted. I just noticed that when I hit next, I've come across that notice.

Freedom of speech applies to the United States of America, but we're not IN the USA. We're in Yahoo, an independent company. If they notice that a question is causing too much of an uproar with no real obvious motive by the asker to get real answers, the question gets chucked. Plus pointless questions only steal more bandwidth and memory from Yahoo.

Freedom of speech, even in the United States is limited to speech that will not incite violence or panic. Said speech is further limited in that certain materials may not be distributed to minors.

Further, the speech that is being eliminated here is speech which would oftentimes cause a student to be expelled from a school or college if said in a classroom.

People need to understand that this is a public forum, with minors as well as adults participating. People are saying things here that they would never say in front of their children. It's truly offensive, and contrary to the contract entered when persons first signed up for this service.

No guarantee of the freedom to say anything was given or implied. Follow the rules, don't be offensive or rude. Your post will remain.

Yahoo is afraid of people complaining to the guv'ment about the kind of activity that occurs on their sites and having the guv'ment shut 'em down or fine them. Given that the guv'ment is made up of bozos who know virtually nothing about the Internet and are too out of touch with ordinary people to know how we communicate, it is not at all out of the question that they'd decide to screw up a good thing just to make political points. So - if you really want complete freedom of speech, you're gonna have to buy your own newspaper or start your own Internet service. If that's your plan, I hope you own a big money tree!

Yahoo will delete questions if enough people report the question. People delete questions if they don't like the answer. That's because they are too insecure to allow a dissenting voice.

Likely they are deleting questions and answers that violate their terms of service. That is their prerogative.

Because they are liberals. Libs only allow speech that they deem to be "free." If your speech disagrees with their definiton of free, it gets deleted.
