I would try grocery stores in Queens or Long Island. If not, I think a short drive across the river into New Jersey might yield better luck for some pumpkins...try grocery stores or farmers' markets in Fairfield, Clifton, North Bergen, or even Trenton if you have the time. In fact, here's an idea--buy several pumpkins from the Jersey side, then sell 'em in NYC...considering how short people are on pumpkins on the East Coast due to the bad weather, you might be able to pocket some dough this way. i dont know but in all seriousness there is a shortage of pumpkins on the east coast because of the heavy rains this spring. sounds like b.s. but its true. the rains washed away alot of the soil and exposed their roots killing them. so good luck.
