Ah, a question that goes straight to my heart.

I DO have aspirations for greatness in my sport. I use creative visualization alot in my training. People say running is boring, oh, never for me...as I do interval training, I envision the finish line over and over...I can plan a dream and execute for months!

However, when push comes to shove, at this point, I just do not have the raw speed. I have the work ethic, but my body type does not really match my chosen sport...and I accept myself for what I can do NOW and continue to have faith, to believe, to WORK at getting better.

I don't aspire to greatness, only excellence in as much as possible. For the rest of it, mediocre is okay. I am what I am, and it is what it is.

writers always fear mediocrity, it is why some don't pursue writing. life is dramatic and we want to capture it in our words, in our interpretations, and we aim for greatness, but only fail when we revise and revise our material 'till where we give up. so in short, we strive for greatness but we peril at the thought of mediocrity.
