Well, if freshness is a factor, but most times kids just smash the pumpkin, fresh or not, so wait till it's a bit closer to the big day. The Vaseline thing is neat though. Gotta try that.

Probably not. Try carving it the night before Halloween that would look the best or even on Halloween in the morning.

If you put vaseline around all of the cuts you make it will help the pumpkin last longer.

The temperature where you live will make a big difference on how long your pumpkin will last. Best conditions are cold but not freezing.

Probably not. Best to either wait 2 or 3 days before Halloween to carve, or if you just can't WAIT, go buy yourself some fake styrofoam pumpkins from Joanne's. I LOVE those things. :)

i usually wait until the day before halloween. last year my pumpkin started to get really soft the day after halloween. i used to think they lasted longer.

probably not-they decompose very quickly. They are pretty much shriveled up after 4 days.

i heard that if u clear the inside really well, and u "burn" the inside, it should last pretty long cause it wont rotten. Your not suppose to literally burn it. juss hold a match inside, and cook it i guess.
