First make sure this is what you truely want. Sometimes if you cut ties, there is no going back.
Start by stating that you do not feel you can trust them anymore and tell them why (i.e. they lied to you). Let them know that since they have betrayed your trust, you really need some time apart or they need to find a way to earn your trust back and it will take more than one instance. From there distance yourself from that person and, it may sound flakey, avoid doing things with them. I have had to do this and it worked out for the best. I have since forgiven the person and we have patched things up but she knows that lies and betrayal will get her no where with me.

first you better make sure that this is what you want... some broken ties are permanant, and can never be retied !!! if this is something you feel you must do, then the old friendship deserves your honesty... for closur on your part you need to go to this person, in private, and just say the words... that you can no longer respect a friendship that is not true so you are leaving it behind... pretty easy.. just walk out of her life .. dont have nothign to do with her..let me tell u a secret about so called friends.. u will find out that ur life is better with out that mess .. i 've been ther done that i have a friend for 10 long years.. just been up till this July that i kicked her *** to the curb .. nothign but lies and using me girl.. utrust me u dont need that **** in ur life..

Stop talking and hagin with them. Then if they don't get the pic,say, "I don't want to be friends with you nomore, especially after you lied." Maybe you can just be aquaintences.
