A public high school is a place where politcal correctness is rampant as well as grade inflation. The student bodies are meant to be diverse but only in skin color. Actual experiences don't matter so statistics show I went to a high school with x% minorities. Well you know what, they live in america too, they play the same sports, they watch the same shows and hang in the same town. They are not diverse in comparison to me. We are the same. Public high school is an overfunded waste of time. They put a lot of money in the wrong places and then people complain when the books aren't new enough for them. Well in private schools and college on must typically buy themselves their own books so people gettin used, but nevertheless free books should stop complaining. I mean come on, no wonder no one likes high school anymore.

I think that people think about it too much. It's ONLY four years out of your ENTIRE life. High school isn't forever. People need to remember that whether they like it or not. I personally think it's played up to be more than it is and it's also trashed more than it needs to be. But the important thing is that it doesn't last, so I don't know why people think high school is their lives.

Take a poll and the census would be THE BEST TIME OF YOUR LIFE. No joke, it is, ENJOY your freedom- oh I know you think you dont have freedom because you live with your parents, have to abide by their limitations on your lifestyle, but believe me, after high school, is real life-commitment to a job, education, other people (girlfriend/boyfriend), financial responsibilities, should I go on? Wake up and smell the roses and coffee everyday you are in high school and LEARN because without an education, the rest of life will be wishing you were BACK in high school.

It was a time of great fun and great stress. None of the people I thought were special then are still special to me now. It was a time of growth, exploration, and learning.
Not to be taken too seriously. High school students are still children, even though they feel like adults and are sometimes allowed, or forced, to grow up too soon.

I wish I had the chance to go back and do it again. Right this time. I dropped out in the end of the 11th grade. Got my GED in my 30's and went to college in my late 30's. So, if I had it to do over, I'd study, appreciate what I had given to me for free and not think I was so smart that they couldn't teach me a thing. Man oh man to be there again. These are the best times of a person's life and most of them don't know it.

At the time it was a pain but as I grow older I find myself reflecting back to those days. For me it was a time of growth and discovery and I will never forget the lessons learned or the great friends I made that are in my life today.

It's a horrible social experiment. It's less about preparing you for a job than it is about affirming social classes in society. I learned more about rich vs. poor, popular vs. unpopular, and race relations than I did in any other period of my life. It is a small, pressure cooker and not at all a gage for real life.
