In retrospect I always knew...but I could never admit it to myself until I was about 21 and had a breakdown because of it.....such a waste of so many years...

I sometimes think I always knew I was a lesbian, even though I didn't know what homosexuality was til I was older. My views on homosexuality had been tainted by my up-bringing(with my families "best intentions" @ heart)so, that stunted my will to identify with who I truly was. I had hints throughout junior high through college. My attempt to lie to both my family and myself held back my growth as a woman as well as my growth as a lesbian. When I was 22 I kissed a girl for the first time and that is when I could no longer deny.

I found out when I met my Best Beloved. It was like I had been waiting all my life for this person and that fact that she happened to be a woman didn't matter. Call it love at first sight, past lives getting together or whatever, We've loved each other almost from that moment. It's been 26 years now. We're working on matching Rose P.'s marker(HI ROSE!!!) of 42 years. Blessings.

i knew when I was ten. i watched my mom and her boyfriend's lesbian porn and t turned me on. I was so confused, to what that feeling was and why I had it towards girls.

Where i'm from people never spoke of "the other side" so I dindn't even know there was a such thing as gay and lesbian until I was 14, still fought it until I turned 21 and im 22 now.

I had my first feelings at the age of 12. I really didn't know what it was about until I got into my later teenage years and learnt about being gay/lesbian. Then I figured I was. It wasn't until I met my girlfriend at the age of nearly 21 that I finally admitted to myself and everyone. Phew what a decade.

I think for me when I was in the 7th grade and I had a big time crush on the guys on the 8th grade basketball team and I felt then a big change in my life that I knew where I wanted to be.

I found out I wasn't a lesbian! Still...I was pretty surprised and flattered to be hit on by a girl. She was really nice. And she's still really nice. I'd go for her if I were a lesbian.

I had no idea about lesbians. I was introduced to my future partner at our office. We had mutual interests, gardening and music.
After 3 years we decided to live together so it was a learning experience. We were together for 42 years until Gwen's tragic death.
Kind regards, Rose P.
