I admit, i'm pretty talkitive and loud.
BUt i used to be shy too, so fear not. You can always practice not being shy, by hanging out with other friends that are loud. Like people say, you turn into a person who your friends are. So if you hang out with some loud friends, it'll change you without you even knowing it. I have learned from experience that it really works. Don't hate being shy, it's actually a good thing too. Talkitive has a down side too you know. Another thing you could do is to try to initiate more and longer conversations with others, even though there may not be a lot of talking. Just try it!

If you are very shy as you said, try learning something that you really are interested in just might do the trick. The reason I believe that you are shy at times is because you dont feel like you have something worthwhile to contribute... So, learning something new makes you knowledgeable on that area. Just might make you talkative when confronted with issues or even people who loves or are interested with the same stuff.
Oh, by the way, I am talkative... usually at least except when I am in a bad mood then I prefer being alone, either sleeping or reading a book, or watching cd/dvd.... And I can certainly go on and on and on....Tehehe...

Im just a little bit of both. If you want to get more talkative start being more comfortable in your own skin. Also hang out with the people you like or love and have a beer (if your 21 or over) to relax you a bit then let the good times begin.

I've always been shy when I'm meeting new people, but I can be really talkative once I feel comfortable around someone.

i used to be shy, and to some degrees i still am, but ever since i began to like myself, found talking to people was a lot easier. I was always nervous about raising my hand in class because i was worried about how people wouldd react to my opinions, but i learned that people are drawn to confidence. If you are confident in what you say, and how you feel, then people will respect you for it. I promise. Just be yourself, and proud of it. That's the key to eliminating shyness.
