I'm using IE7 and as soon as I log on to YM with Voice and I recieve a message that yahoo has encountered an error and will close.

It's a high possibility that because Yahoo Messenger was designed for IE 5 and 6, that you using ie 7 makes it crash.
How's IE7 working for you?
If it's acting wierd, you might want to see if you can uninstall and reinstall it.
If it's acting fine, you might want to uninstall and reinstall yahoo messenger.
