The version I have was on a David Bowie hits album. It says its "David Bowie ft/ Queen", but I always thought it was originally Queen's.
Is there more than one version? Who did the original?

Of course is originally a Queen song !!
It appears on Queen's "Hot space" album.
Actually it was composed by "Roger Taylor",
by they decided to credit the song as Queen/Bowie.
And, the original "Under pressure" Queen demo, without Bowie's vocals, & it's called "Feel like".

I expect the song was just credited as David Bowie ft/Queen because it was on a David Bowie album. If you had a Queen album, it would have been credited as Queen ft/David Bowie.

Bowie had originally come to the studios in order to sing backing vocals in another Queen song, Cool Cat, which would end up being edited out since he wasn't satisfied with them. Once he got there, they jammed for a while and wrote the song.

David Bowie and Freddy Mercury (Queen) did the original recording but it was covered by My Chemical Romance and The Used a while ago

I don't know who wrote it, but it is a Queen song, with a little of Bowie background vocals in it.
