Only asking because I did not need it when driving through Canada to Alaska? Thank you..... : )

In jan,08,2007 the regulation for traveling by land tourist,or tourist who spend their time on resorts in the Caribbean,will come to partial end in terms of convenience.
So if you are going to need your passport,if you don't have, get one if you intend to travel to the Caribbean,ASAP.

When visiting Jamaica from the United States or Canada all visitors are required to have with them proof of citizenship which can be a valid passport or a certified copy or original birth certificate along with a picture ID such as a driver's license.

Beginning January 8, 2007 you will need a passport to re-enter the US, until that time, your driver's license/state id and birth certificate are acceptable.

I have been to Jamaica three times. Did not need my passport, but if you have one, take it. I got along just fine with copy of birth certificate, especially when trying to leave Jamaica. If you are not certain, call your local travel agency, they can help you.

as of now, no you do not need a passport, only a birth certificate and photo id. however beginning anuary 2007, new laws require that you to have a passport when travelling there.

As of now you only need a birth certificate. However, Beginning at the end of this year you will need a passport to re-enter the U.S.

Yes, you will need it cause you have to fly there and you are leaving a body of land to go to another, that is a different country

yes, i go back and forth from america to jamacia 2 a year. you can go with your birth certificate and state id until january of 2007.
