Guns kill people like spoons make people fat. It's just a tool.

I assume your show is going to be about banning guns, correct? If so, then I think you should do a bit of research. How many people die each yr. from gun violence? How many people that commit that violence are registered law abiding gun owners?

How many people die each yr. as a result of being in a car wreck of their or someone Else's fault? Do you ever hear anyone calling for the banning cars? Why not? More people die from them each year than guns.

I agree it has been a bad deal the past few month because of the tragic shootings at schools across the nation, but those acts were committed by a few sick, lonely, broken individuals. Why do the rest of us have to pay for their wrong doing?

If guns ever do get banned, do you really think that the criminal element is going to give them up? Absolutely not. The only people that would will be the law abiding and registered gun owners.

As someone said before, people have been killing each other for hundreds of yrs. Way before the gun was invented. Crime will not decrease because you take guns away, no matter how much you pray for it. People will just find other ways to commit violence against each other.

I have lost a few friends to gun violence (mainly suicide).

The best that I can figure, is that they were blind to the idea that there were other options.... everyone I know that has died from gun violence (4 people) were also taking a whole host of prescription medications at the time and were seeing multiple doctors.

People don't like to listen to me when I advocate NOT owning a gun and NOT taking anti-depressants. They can think of a million reasons that they should be able to do both these things.

But I have my one reason that they shouldn't... you could die.

i think you hit it right on the mark but yet missed the bullseye. the question should be rephrased. people were killing people long before there was any guns. wars were fought with swords and knives. the qestion should be more along the lines of why people kill other people. in that case there are many reasons to which people kill others. the first ay be from an inbalance of chemicals in the brain. another may be from self defense. a third may be because they are soldiers. guns in my opinion just gave people a way to do things faster that they have been doing for hundreds of years. so why do you think people kill people.

this world is becoming more and more crazy everyday,as more and more of the unexplainable keeps happening.i have been to more funerals this year alone, then i have my whole life..and most of them were people under the age of 50! icluding my own husband,he was only 46,and i'm now a 36 yr old widow.but, getting back to the ?.i think what is known as "armegeddon" is near...all the violence, greed, wars, hatred, hunger, diseases, and it seems like drugs are taking over alot of people's minds, both script and non-script..alchohol too.they do it mostly in fits of rage, due to and brought on by unknown circumstances, but ,more than half are usually drug and/or alchol related.

The same reason people disagree with each other in Yahoo! Answers: ego, lack of morals, weakness, ego, lack of peace inside themselves, oh and too many guns on the streets!

For the same reason they kill with any other weapon. They are angry. The reasons why they are angry vary for each individual but the reality is they are angry.

If this is a gun control issue discussion then I could add more...
but that would take a while.

So is killing someone worse with a gun, or a rock? Is that person who was killed with a rock any less dead? No.

Murder is a hate crime, a person has to have enough hate in their heart to commit murder, no matter what weapon they use.

So you don't have to chase them down, we've become lazy. Try to stab someone and they squirm and fight back, but point a gun at someone and they freeze like deer in the highbeams.
