Well, in order to become a Spanish teacher you have to be fluent and literate in Spanish. You won't be able to just get by knowing some or even half-way Spanish. For example, there will be parents of children who speak Spanish, and a lot of times you may be called upon to translate (this happens all of the time in my school where 1 out of 3 students are Hispanic). And, those parents will know whether you're literate or not, so you don't want to look bad.
However, don't let your high school courses be your only judge. After all, everyone goofs off in high school, right? I did, and made A/B's in Spanish without trying.
If you really have an interest in it then major or atleast MINOR in Spanish in college. That will really give you an idea if you'll be able to do it.
Also, as an elementary teacher...a word of advice for you. Get 2 degrees or certifications in college if you want to become a teacher. That makes you more "marketable" when you graduate and look for a job. Not all school districts have an elem. spanish program. Our elem. schools lost funding in 2001 (when all of our money went to Bush's war...don't get me started) and so they had to cut those teachers. For some of the teachers it was alright because they were certified in another area, but for those who were only Spanish majors, they had to go looking elsewhere for jobs.
Good luck!

In maximum uncomplicated faculties, the all academics show all the topics (different than you would be able to correctly be an paintings, gymnasium, music instructor and so on). in spite of the undeniable fact that, at some ordinary faculties, the older pupils do replace academics. it is the way it is in 4th and 5th grade on the enterprise the placement I show. One coach has all of the scholars interior the grade for background, a various has them involved approximately language arts, and a extra has them excited by technological know-how. normally, possibly the main modern guy or female employed gets caught with coaching something the different teachers do no longer desire to show. If the type new instructor was specifically qualified in something (for representation, certainly one of our new 4th grade instructors had a extra certification in English), that they had be greater services to be asked to coach that. in spite of the undeniable fact that, while you're making plans to coach ordinary, you will could desire to be arranged for instructing all the topics for the reason that it is the potential it is in maximum faculties. As for authentic college classes, in basic terms take what's a factor of the classic enterprise prep application. make certain to get a minimum of two-3 years of foreign places language - a lot of faculties require it. In maximum areas of the rustic, there are increasing numbers of Spanish-conversing pupils, so taking as lots Spanish as which you will could help you later. alongside inclusive of your electives, take instructions like psychology and toddler progression in the event that they're provided at your college. additionally, on a similar time as you're in intense college, attempt to get some volunteer (or paid) adventure working with youngsters.
