I love cashmere, too. It's so soft and lovely! That is why we unfortunately need to pay the cashmere price.

I love the warmth of wool in the winter, cotton keeps you cool in the summer, silk is too easy to mess up, satin is for when you feel naughty and cashmere is for when you want to treat yourself.

Cotton mostly, some Wool slacks and suits and Cashmere sometimes, just for sweaters and blazers though.

Try 100% merino wool it is soft and not itchy.
It is costs less than cashmere but it is a high quality wool and in demand so it is not exactly cheap either. I have several merino clothing items(sweaters, scarves, hats, etc...) and they all hold up well(hand wash or dry clean according to instructions) and keep you very warm.
