Hazel eyes are the product of moderate amounts of melanin. A number of studies using three-point scales have assigned "hazel" to be the medium-colour between brown and blue.
There is some difficulty in defining the eye colour "hazel" as it sometimes considered to be synonymous with brown and other times with green.
They have been described as light brown or yellowish brown, or as a lighter shade of brown.
Hazel eyes have also been described as being equivalent to blue/Gray.

It's a mixture of eye colors, not just one color. Blue/green is considered hazel because the eyes are not just blue and not just green they are mixed. Mine are blue/green with no brown or other color.
