It appears that this mobo will NOT support a Core Duo processor.

I don't think so. That motherboard looks like it is destined from slower Intel D processors.

Try one of the motherboard/core 2 duo bundles, like this ASUS/Core 2 Duo deal:

I you have not yet bought your Core Duo (and this doesn't answer your question, which is NO), why not have a look at the newer AMD equivalent.

Feedback coming out actually rates their as yet again leaving Intel in the dust. AMD also has a far better reputation in Vista compatibility and handling than Intell - which is only a couple of months or so off release. Just a thought

It will not work, the 865G chipset does not work with Core 2 Duos. For one thing, they only support up to a 800MHz front side bus, and the Core 2 Duos have 1066Mhz. There are also other less noticeable architectural incompatibilities.

No...you will need one with either the 965 or 975 intell chipset. the one you linked to has the 865 chip set
