YES!!! The cost difference between the low grade and higher grades is small. Plus the carpeting will be more durable and more cushiony

well, if the original underpad is really really old, you may want to consider changing it, think about all the soils and messes it has absorbed over the years. Carpet cleaners probably can't get that clean too much.

Yes. It is one of those great instant "return-on-investment" (ROI) buys. Upgrading to even the BEST, typically called "gold", only cost cents more per sq. foot.

But it makes a huge difference to the feel.

Forget all that about better wear and tear.

We are talking instant gratification.

A top end pad makes you feel like you are walking on air.

Definitely worth a small incremental cost.

Enjoy it. You won't regret it. All the best.

Yes . the old has too much dirt, and germs, and mold hidden iin it.
Also you probly have old bugs, and odors present. It's safer, healtheir, and a lot cleaner smelling ot change it. I would never install old capet with out changing the old underpad.
