This is for philosophy class and i need to eather use Descartes or Berkeleys opinion to answer the question.... basically mind OR perception.

Regardless if there is a God or evil power.

The only way is to feel the 'something' that is there, from just within, a process similar to 'synthesis' (the nearest available word), and then know that it is deception or not .
Even the past memories can be verified thus !
The conflict is just between manifestation of some 'life' and the projection of mind , so not a difficult thing, once the technique is acquired. This may not find much acceptance as a theory for a philosophy class, but it is worth looking into, for a person keen to really 'know' !

thats a very good question but ask ur self is there something really there or maybe its just part of what they want u to believe is there something or was there never anythiing at all and does that item really exist for what u think is what really should u think but not believe cause thats when its all unreall and made for a reason to believe and be decieved.

Well if you are not taking drugs and there is no obvious illusion being preformed you can assume that something is physically there.
