I am 15 weeks pregnant and for the last week I've been feeling a weird hardening with my uterus... It's nothing really painful or constant, but I feel the discomfort. It happens maybe once or twice a day at the very most... usually early in the morning or late at night... Is this normal? Thanks for any info... I have an appt coming up soon with the doc too.

Absolutely normal...sounds like braxton-hicks contractions, you will notice them more as you get further along in your pregnancy.

Check with your OB-GYN, but it sounds like it is probably braxton hicks...or your uterus is just "practicing" for the real thing. I had the same thing during my second pregnancy. I was on an extended vacation in Mexico and the Dr. there told me to have a beer a day (I'm not a drinker), it would not hurt the baby if I did not drink more than that and it would relax me. Well, Tecate is NOT my favorite so I only got about 1/3 of a can or bottle down, but it did the trick! Good Luck! Don't Stress! That will only make it worse!

I'm 15 weeks also, third pregnancy, and have been experiencing the same thing. I thought it was Braxton Hicks and I asked my doctor why I was having them so early. She told me that it was not Braxton Hicks but my uterus streching. She said that this feeling is more obvious with each pregnancy.

Hmm, I think this is too early for Braxton Hicks so I would call your obgyn and speak to an advice nurse. You are still pretty early and with both of my pregancies I remember "cramping" until I was well into my 2nd trimester. I would call and speak to the advice nurse just to fell better. Good luck and congrats!
