Played for 40 years and piano as well. I dabble on the Banjo, Harmonica, and Mandolin. I messed with the Flute and Sax but it was too much breathing for me. I find the guitar to be more portable and when I go to the park or camping I have it to play.

What kind of guitar are you playing? Electric or acoustic? Finger picked or plectrum? Six string or twelve? I love playing folk music on my acoustic Gibson, but for some songs, my 12-string has the drive that really moves it along.
Have fun with it -- it's something you can enjoy for a lifetime.

i taught myself 3 years ago. when i got my first guitar, i loved it so much, I placed it on a stand right next to my bed. One night I managed to walk AROUND my guitar and got up to use the restroom and when I came back, I didn't know that my guitar was in the way since it was dark so I fell on it AND the stand.. (thankfully my bed caught my guitar)... I had no idea what was going on since I was half asleep.. so I sort of backed away and tried to go back to my bed. Instead, I stepped on my guitar stand's leg, and like a rake when you step on it, the stand and guitar flung and hit my face!!! Just a story, everyone laughs at me for being such a loser.. and who keeps their guitar right by their bed?! I was a weirdo.
