My son is eating five eight onces bottles of formula and then he eats between 4 and 6 ounces of stage two fruits or vegies right after the bottle. I think he is going through a growth spurt. Do you think that I'm right.

that sounds about right to me. You could try giving him the food first and then the bottle, and see if he finishes the bottle. That's what I do. My oversized five month old is eating three meals a day; I give him the bottle after the solids and he usually eats between 4 and 6 ounces of formula at that time. He also has a full bottle for a "snack" after his afternoon nap.

I wouldnt be too concerned. Babies need nutrition. However at six months old, I assume that he has some teeth. When you feed him staged fruits and vegtables it reduces the work of his digestive system. If you think he is just feeling hungry try giving him real fruits and vegtables. It will stay in his stomach longer, and considering his age he is ready for it. I would suggest boiled vegtables, and try to stay away from large amounts of bannana or other fruits that will make his stomach upset.

If he is hungry feed him. Make sure that you are giving him all healthy foods. You can also give him teething crackers- that might help him a bit.
