Did they catch Osama there? Did they find weapons of mass destruction there? Did any of the 9/11 terrorists come from there? Or, is there OIL there for Cheney's company - Haliburton?

Long ago, the United States helped Saddam gain power and provided his government with money, weapons and training. By the 1990's, he had let power go to his head (power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely) and was guilty of genocide, torture and abuse of his own countrymen. Civil rights simply did not exist in his country. Even then, our government had not cut ties with him.

Desert Storm came about because Saddam invaded Kuwait and threatened the oil supplies there. President Bush Senior decided not to invade Iraq and capture Saddam because he did not have an exit plan. (That's the same dillemma his son is in now. ) There was a lot of outrage about his decision not to go into Bagdad and capture Saddam ... again, he chose the smarter way because it looked like there would be no end to the war..another Vietnam.

During Desert Storm, the troops were given maps that did not show a country called Iraq...it had been divided up to neighboring countries. That was the original plan.

Saddam survived that run-in and the civil rights violations continued. Osama has nothing to do with this war. President Bush Junior was given certain powers (or invoked certain powers) after 9/11. He violated the trust of Congress and the American people by using those powers to "settle a score" so to speak, and vindicate his father (the smarter of the two). His first call was to tell Daddy that he captured Saddam for him (to my recollection).

One of the reasons that President Bush Junior decided to turn the focus from Osama to Saddam is because of one of his advisors.

When Junior was a young man, he tried to be a Texas oilman but didn't have enough smarts; the company was going bankrupt and was bought out as a favor by one of his Daddy's friends. That company was soon bought out by the financial advisor to Osama Bin Laden, making money for everyone concerned.

In compensation/reward for making all those men rich, that advisor to Saddam was made one of Junior's advisors. He keeps a low profile, granted, but he has the President's ear.

Remember the raids on mosques here in America, when the CIA and FBI had identified terrorist cells? That advisor whined to the President and the raids stopped...it was against their financial interests.

So .. this war may be liberating the Iraqis .. and for that I am thankful... The underlying cause sucks, though.

It's Bush's fault. He sent troops to Iraq, and now we're in war with Iraq, I believe. Personally, i think it was an unneeded war. We could of gone without it. So to answer your question clearly, they're in war with us and people are getting shot.

If it was really for oil, then why are gas prices still so high, genius?

One world government, maybe? Now that's a plausible theory.

War kills people. There's really no other explanation. They didn't find anything or anyone.
