I needed extra outlets and thought I'd spend about $20 on a solution....well,...Surge Protectors for 1770 Joules at $40? This is the "cheaper" one. All I know is how many watts I want to plug in. Is there a simple conversion? I went to another store and found a less well-known brand 25% less in cost. It will be about 350-375$ to buy what I think I could use.

Is it really IMPORTANT ??

I will always have one on my computer equipment, as my house was hit by lightning and I lost one years ago, did not have the surge protector on it, not sure if one would survive/protect in the event of another direct hit, though.

Yes, and buy the expensive one. Had a fire in my house due to a surge during a storm, I had a cheap $20 surge protector and it started on fire, the fireman said it happens all the time and to buy a $40 one b/c they're better and won't start on fire. I also lost my tv from this surge. I had to buy 3, but better safe then sorry.

save up for the $350 model

I lost a computer, monitor, and Ethernet connection....

most surge protectors will not guard your system from a "drop" in current...they are literally "surge" protectors...like in an electrical storm...
but
most do not protect from a serious drop in current
and most do not protect your Internet connection from anything

save up and go for the $350 range with the battery back up

a good long term investment to protect your system [ present and future]

It depends what you are trying to protect from electrical surges. An expensive computer, a jacuzzi? I have had my computer ruined by an electrical surge as well as a jacuzzi. Surge Protectors are like an insurance, to protect your belongings.

perfect language/perfect concept does no longer recommend that vocabulary is substantial to concept. Bumbling interjections are no longer unavoidably undesirable literacy... they're undesirable public talking skills. There are different alerts that Bush is lacking, to place it diplomatically, and his strikes are questionable. yet there are in all risk a lot of people lacking presentation potential that Confucius does no longer evaluate as lacking "rightness." There are persons of all vocabulary stages that are ethical or beneficial and characteristic mindsets for the income of others and society as an entire. There is likewise the variety of concept it quite is photographs, no longer words. on an identical time as perfect language actual contributes to perfect concept, i think of the features to which Confucius refers isn't solely appropriate to vocabulary and literacy. it is achievable to have thought that consists of a beneficial ethical compass, regardless of one's language skills.

I think you are better off with them, it is really risky without them if an electrical surge happens.
