Amount of RAM is not the most important factor, so ignore those people. You could but 2GB of RAM on this card and the performance would still be lacking. For underground you will be able to play at low-mid settings, most wanted will probably not work at all, or at very low settings. If you send me an email with what price you are looking for in a video card I can find you a good one, but I must warn you for those games that price needs to be at least $100, probably more.

To give you an idea of that cards performance, it's about 2 and a half times slower and even worse in some situations than a 6600gt and 6600gt's are just way to slow for most games nowadays.
And anyone who says 512mb on a slow card would make it better.. obviously has no idea what they're talking about.
That much ram is only good on 256bit memory interfaces with blazing clock speeds

I dont know what you're paying for that 9550.. but you can get a Ati X1650 Pro for $132 and it's much much faster than a 9550

Without knowing more about your computer it's impossible to say what the best upgrade path would be. A video card and graphics card are just different names for the same thing. Getting one will increase the performance of graphics on the PC but not overall performance. If you computer is generally very slow, then it's very likely you need more RAM. Getting more RAM will probably provide a bigger boost than a graphics card but it's hard to say without knowing your current PC specs.

the 265MB is good, there is no game at all that REQUIRES a 512 MB
but the main prob is in the card it self, this card was the 1st card ATI releses that have DirectX 9" pixle and vertex shader 2"
and it's very old now
the going now r the cards that have pixel and vertex shader 3 "DirectX 9c"
and in the next 2 weeks Nvidia will be relesing the 1st DirectX 10 card" pixel and vertex shader 4"
so my advice to u is to get a new card " Geforce 7600 or a Readon X1600" if u don't have enough money

any 256 Vid Card will get at least 60+ FPS for most games unless its some just complete Grpahics sucker.

512 is completely unncessary, for most 512 vid cards are Workstation cards that don't exactly have the bus speed to support even the small games like DOOM3 and CS:S THere is really only one gaming VID card that is over 512MB is the GeForce 7950.

Your Vid card will do good

The card you mentioned will be better, but by no means great. AGP is done and PCI-E is the way to go now to get a good card. But for the games you mentioned it will work.
